| Although
born in South Carolina, Sherry was raised in Gainesville, FL. For a brief
time she attended Stuart Hall in Staunton, VA and graduated from Stephens
College in Columbia, MO. After marriage, Sherry and husband, Terry, lived
for a short time in Clearwater, FL, then returned to their hometown of
Gainesville, to open a gift shop, which they had for 14 years.
In
1979, they made Daytona Beach Shores, their permanent home, although she
had placed her license with Peck Realty several years prior to their move.
Over the years, she has won awards for: Million Dollar Sales (1987, 1988,
1989, 1990, 1991, 1994); Lifetime Achievement Award (1991); Sales Director
of the Year (1989); SOLD Award (1989); Marketing Director of the Year (1990);
Peck Realty Annual Awards: 2nd Place (1988); 3rd Place (1990).
In
the past few years Sherry and her daughter, Ashley, have also taken on
the added responsibility of Interior Decorating and have furnished several
model units. On a personal note, she married her best friend, Terry, and
they have four grown children (three of which have placed their licenses
with this company) and four grandchildren. She is a member of the
First Baptist Church, the Junior League Sustainers of Daytona Beach, and
a past board member of the Margarita Society, a volunteer organization
for the benefit of children.
Sherry
loves spending time with her family, traveling, decorating, cooking, collecting
Dept. 56, living at the beach, and, of course, is a big Florida Gator football
fan! "I have been truly blessed. In this business, wearing many hats means
you have to be organized, but to be successful, it also means hard work
and a team effort. To me, customers are individual people that have each
led their own fascinating life and we can learn from each other." |
